Afkar Media is a Syrian company founded in 1997 specializing in educational software, animation, and computer games. It is credited with launching the first 3D computer game in the Arab world (according to Arab media, though the reality is different) (under the ashes). It was part of Dar Al-Fikr, where it developed several games, including many educational ones, until it separated in 2003 and merged with Sawirsoft (founded in 1995) to become an independent company. It remained independent until 2009 when it closed due to financial and administrative reasons.
